My TOY: CardScan Executive

When I got back from the International Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year, I had enough business cards to wallpaper my apartment. I wanted to keep the contacts, but I wasn’t keen on typing out all the details, so I turned to a business card scanner called the CardScan Executive to do the job for me.
This little device plugs into your computer and captures a card’s information, dropping the name, phone number, e-mail address and other details into the relevant fields in about three seconds. The CardScan software does a bang-up job of contact management and even allows you to export your contacts to a whack of other programs like Outlook.
Another great feature is that it keeps an image of the original card attached to every record, so now I can toss the card while still satisfying my inner pack rat.
